Austin Keys currently works out of his own ranch, located just north of Mineral Wells.  Over the years Austin has been fortunate enough to work with many well established NCHA trainers. As a youth Austin worked under Scott Amos and Russ Miller. As time went on Austin spent 6 years working with Phil Hanson where learned to start to put "things all together" and was able to start 2014 NCHA Futurity Champion CLASSY CD CAT as a 2YO and also got her ready for Phil to show at the Futurity. Since then Austin added working for Greg Coalson where he trained BETS ON BATHSHEBA, CATTYWOMPAS, JUANA BET and SANTALLICO CAT for Greg who had much success with each of these horses in the show pen.

Austin ran the 2YO program at the Crown Ranch for 3 years. Chad along with multiple others have had great success on horses that he started such as REY BANZ GAL, 2019 NCHA Super Stakes Non Pro Co Champion. During the 2020 NCHA Futurity Non Pro Division MY WAYWARD SON and Chad marked a 224 in the 1st Go and was an Abilene 4YO Open Finalist at Abilene with Lloyd Cox aboard was also started by Austin Keys.

In January of 2020 Austin and his wife made the decision to go out on their own and purchased property in Whitt, Texas.  Austin specializes in starting 2YOs and putting a great base on them for their future in the show pen as as aged event horses of all levels. He also specializes in 2YO Western Bloodstock Sale horses and well.  Austin enjoys hitting the road to show at the weekend events with $32K+ in NCHA earnings.
