A native of Belton, South Carolina, Ben grew up playing baseball and showing cutting horses. After attending the University of South Carolina, Ben apprenticed with John Starrak before becoming an assistant trainer for Ted Sokol in Seville, Florida, where he worked for five years coaching amateurs and non-pros. In 2007 Ben became Head Trainer for Lynn Davis, working at LHT Ranch in Prairie, Mississippi.

After two years, Ben and his young family moved to Weatherford, Texas and became Head Trainer at Brewer Ranch, where he worked for five years. In 2014, Ben opened his own ranch to the public, operating as Roberson Performance Horses in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Recent Accomplishments:

2025 • Open World Finalist, plus multiple 4-Year-Old and 5/6-Year-Old Open Finalist finishes at Southern Cutting Futurity and Abilene Spectacular, including additional Open finalist performances across major aged events.

2024 • Multiple Open finalist and Top 3 finishes at Southern Cutting Futurity, Cotton Stakes, West Texas Futurity, Arbuckle Mountain Futurity, Ike Derby & Classic, and Abilene Spectacular, highlighted by a 5/6-Year-Old Open Top 3 Finalist finish.

2023 • Multiple Open and Intermediate Open Reserve Champion and finalist finishes at Southern Cutting Futurity, Cotton Stakes Classic, West Texas Futurity, NCHA Summer Spectacular, Non Pro + The Open, and NCHA Futurity, consistently placing across 4-Year-Old and 5/6-Year-Old divisions.

2022 • Multiple Open, Intermediate Open, and Limited Open finalist finishes at Southern Cutting Futurity, Cotton Stakes Classic, NCHA Summer Spectacular, Ike Derby & Classic, and Augusta Futurity across aged event divisions.

2021 • NCHA Eastern Nationals 25K Novice Champion, plus multiple Open and Intermediate Open finalist finishes at Southern Cutting Futurity, NCHA Summer Spectacular, NCHA Super Stakes, NCHA Eastern Nationals, and Ike Derby & Classic.

2020 • Southern Cutting Futurity 4-Year-Old Limited Open Champion, plus multiple Open and Intermediate Open finalist finishes at NCHA Summer Spectacular, NCHA Eastern Nationals, and Abilene Spectacular.

2019 • Multiple Open finalist finishes at Waco Texas Futurity, Cotton Stakes, and NCHA Western Nationals.

2018 • San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo 25K Novice Horse Reserve Champion.

2017 • World Finals 5K Novice Horse Top 15 finish.

2016 • World Finals 5K Novice Horse Top 15 finish.

2013 • World Finals 3K Novice Horse Top 10 finish.

2012 • World Finals 3K Novice Horse Top 10 finish.

2007 • Tunica Futurity 4-Year-Old Limited Open Champion.
