Meet Ike Reed 45 (aka Chief)!
Looking for that young, versatile horse that can do a bit of everything and go any direction you want? Well, look no further! Meet Chief! Chief is a 4 year old cow bred Quarter Horse gelding that is registered with the American Cow Horse Association. He stands at 14.2 hands and has beautiful conformation with a full, thick mane and tail. Chief is a gorgeous bright sorrel with a lot of chrome and flash! He has some of the most unique markings that really catches your eye and makes him standout in a crowd. From his stockings and sock to his money symbol and flame shaped blaze, he's got it all. He has been started with a gentle hand and he responds willingly with a bright but kind eye. Chief has explosive athleticism complimented by floating smooth gaits and buttery transitions. He responds with light pressure and has a willingness to please. Chief has a solid mind and the athleticism that would allow you to excel in any discipline but his ability to turn extremely hard would allow him to shine in competitive western disciplines. He has been exposed to livestock and is developing his cowiness and has recently been introduced to having a rope thrown from him. Chief comes from a long line of extremely hardy and prolific cattle horses, he was foaled on the Colt 45 ranch in Payette Idaho. He hales from some of the most prolific cattle horses to ever live, his pedigree includes Lonesome Tiger, Jody Fairfax, and Frostys Tops. Chief has sound correct feet and has never been required to be shod. Chief has no kick or bite, he is safe around children but will require an experienced rider with a light hand because he is extremely sensitive. He is sure footed and well balanced which allows him to eat up the trails and hills with ease. Regretfully we are in a position to have to let this once in a lifetime horse go. Chief loads well, stand for the farrier, ties, bathes, clips, stands, is quiet while mounted, and is well adjusted to other horses. He collects when backing, side passes, yields his front and rear, he is good on both leads, does well with dogs and machinery, and is comfortable crossing water. Chief is easy to catch, stands to be saddled and bridled, he works on a loose rein, and lunges with ease. Vet and coggins test scheduled for Tuesday Dec. 13, 2022 info will be added as soon as received.
