Specialeditionkitty, a 2017 gray roan mare by Metallic Cat and out of the coveted mare, PG Special Edition by Playgun, will be offered in this upcoming Solo Select Sales Flash Sale. She sells alongside an embryo by PYC Paint Your Wagon, due in 2026​.


Specialeditionkitty made the finals of the NRCHA Open Futurity, proving her abilities early on in her career.

This mare’s offspring have consistently been in high demand at nationwide sales, most recently highlighted by her embryo sired by The Darkk Side selling for $32,500 in February 2025 at the Billings, Montana sale. Solo Select has a gray-roan yearling stallion by Woody Be Tuff that is one of the "best we have ever raised" according to Melanie. He will sell this fall.


Over the years, Select Genes has successfully sold multiple aspirations from this mare, including frozen embryo packages and foals-in-utero, attracting buyers drawn to her outstanding pedigree, impressive performance record, and exciting color combinations.

On the maternal side, Specialeditionkitty is out of PG Special Edition, a mare who brings an exceptional cow horse pedigree and performance record. PG Special Edition is a daughter of the legendary cutting sire Playgun (by Freckles Playboy)​​. This strong genetic heritage translated into success in the arena: PG Special Edition earned $110,332 in NCHA cutting competition. Her show highlights include reaching the finals of major events like the NCHA Super Stakes and even winning Reserve Champion in the Augusta 4-Year-Old Cutting Futurity​.

As a broodmare, PG Special Edition has proven remarkably influential in the cow horse and performance horse worlds. She has produced multiple money-earning performers across disciplines, with collective offspring earnings exceeding $490,000​. Several of her foals have also excelled in a variety of events – for example, Metallic Edition earned a Superior in AQHA heading (team roping) along with 169 AQHA points​. This deep maternal legacy underscores the strength of Specialeditionkitty’s pedigree, positioning her to be a valuable producer in her own right for years to come.
