𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥, 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘸𝘺, & 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘺𝘭𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦, 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 & 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘦𝘴!

Not many times, will you find a horse offered for consideration on a professional platform that has been owned by one person their entire career, let alone an individual that packs a resume that you will hear directly from the "horses mouth”…. but here he is! I’ve known this 14.2h 2011 model AQHA red roan gelding since he was 4 years old, and have always had an admiration for the way he operates. He has been a dependable staple in a variety of programs, and I am very excited to present this one to you… 

𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨  𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙤 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙖 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙪𝙮 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚! The textbook definition of experience, Roanie packs all the education as a finished reiner, low level cutter, cowhorse, ranch rider… AND he’s been roped on! 

He was trained by professional horseman Jim McCutcheon, who is notorious for getting a horse confidently trained in the reining & is an exceptional guy to ride behind- but what many people don’t know about Jim is that he is also throughly educated in the cutting & cowhorse as well! Another cool thing about Jim is his routine: he will spend a Monday loping all of his horses outside, flag them on another day, circle and change leads another, haul to different arenas, and gradually build a degree of difficulty throughout the week to keep his horses mentally & physically locked in…. so it’s safe to say Roanie received some of the finest education in multiple facets of the western performance world throughout his many years of meticulous care in Jim’s barn. This horse has a handle & experience like no other. He has been successfully SHOWN in the reining, cowhorse, stock horse, AND cutting pen in the open & amateur classes. Roanie is easy to operate, & is incredibly thoughtful with everything he does. He is comfortable at all gaits, has a solid stop, spin, lead change, extended trot, side pass, etc. Roanie is expressive & willing over obstacles~ is traffic safe, keeping a level head in the heat of battle.

In more recent years,

Roanie was ridden by NCHA Professional, Jose Cruz, spending his days being extensively hauled, cut & turned back on. For the last three years, he was THE go to practice horse, and was THE turnback gelding to take to town! 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙚 𝙞𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙖 𝙟𝙤𝙗 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚 & 𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥 𝙪𝙥 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚- 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩! He’s spent the last few months getting legged up in all of his reining maneuvers, schooled over trail, ranch riding patterns, and has been boxed & worked out of the herd in the last month. 

This gelding is highly trained, very cowy, and is a push style ride, equally packing a ton of horsepower that will continue to make him a great teammate & competitor in many different avenues! 

𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚.

Roanie has absolutely no funny business to him. No buck, bolt, rear, kick, and is one you can turn out with other horses, or keep up in a stall with no trouble. He is NOT spoiled, NOT buddy/barn sour, and is VERY respectful…. outside of his passion for the occasional neck scratches. I call this guy the undercover ham, because he absolutely LOVES attention but you would never know until you give it to him. Roanie is the picture of a perfect boyfriend… definitely came from good parents, is college educated, reliable, and so much fun!! If he could get the door for you he sure would! 

Another incredibly special thing about this gelding is his inept soundness. 

For a fact, he has ONLY had his hocks injected once as a 4 year old - and was kept barefoot unless sliders were needed. He requires NO maintenance & is as solid as they come! He has a current vet statement, current CLEAN x rays, & sells with a completely spotless bill of health. You can buy this guy with CONFIDENCE, knowing this horse has been loved and respected as an important member of the family.
