What a special individual.

If you are looking for a futurity horse that can compete at the highest level, Dark Arising is here! “Moon” is the FULL package: pedigree, athlete, beautiful, and more.

She has been in training with Andy Sherrerd from the very beginning. “The cow means everything to this mare. She is an overachiever with natural instinct,” says Sherrerd. She is a barn favorite and consistent in her day-to-day training. Her potential extends far beyond the show pen, carrying into the broodmare barn with one of the strongest maternal pedigrees in the industry.”

She is sired by Badboonarising, the $4.4 MILLION SIRE with only five foal crops. He is an earner of $367,101, NCHA Reserve Horse of the Year, and the NCHA Open Futurity Reserve Champion! The dam is Just As Dark who is a daughter of the legendary Metallic Cat. The second dam is Just As Reckless who earned $188,399 and was the PCCHA Spring Open Derby Champion. She is a FULL SISTER to the 2026 AQHA Leading Cow Horse Dam, Lil Bit Reckless (LTE 231,124, AQHA Reserve World Champion Senior Cutting Horse). She is the dam of multiple money earners including I Reckon So (LTE $125,305).

“This is the kind of mare people search for when they want to win now and build a strong broodmare program for the future. Opportunities to own one with this kind of talent, pedigree, and long-term value don’t come around often. We expect her to have an exceptional show career, and we fully believe her impact will continue for generations as a producer,” says Ty Smith, Solo Select Horses Co-Founder & Co-Owner.

Mares like this are special and what programs are shaped around for generations.
