2018 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Intermediate Open Champion
Clay Volmer specializes in both cutting & reined cowhorses, and competes professionally at major NCHA & NRCHA events nationally year-round. He was also the 2013 AQHA Cutting World Champion. Clay’s early passion was bareback horses; he won the South Dakota State High School Finals in Bareback Riding in 1999, and continued his roughstock career in college at National American University in Rapid City, SD. While still in college, Clay and his uncle started coordinating horsemanship clinics all over the country in concert with several well-known clinicians, including Buck Brannaman, Ray Hunt, and Curt Pate. Clay still credits these clinicians with teaching him the exceptional colt-starting & general horsemanship skills that he uses so effectively in his training methods today.
