With a heart the size of Texas and a personality to match, this big 16 hand bay roan gelding has travelled far and wide, and is ready to meet his forever home!

This gentle giant is a big puppy dog, and has packed actors alike through all the chaos of a movie set! He was used in season 5 of Yellowstone (ridden by Grady the Cattle Guy), and the entire 1883 series! From gunfights, to packing, roping to trail, Keystone is the man for the job- and he truly enjoys participating! He has been hauled extensively from Texas to Montana, stood tied quietly for hours, and is truly as honest a gelding as you can find! 

Even though Keystone has packed around inexperienced riders, he actually has a lot of training and feel from a fundamental standpoint. Meaning that Keystone has body control, can side pass, yield his shoulder and hips, lope off from a walk, ride with a one handed draped rein, and he really wants to stop! What is neat about this horse is that he will ride to your level of experience- so you don’t have to worry about “pressing the wrong button”! You can leave this big guy off for weeks at a time, and he will meet you at the gate, cinch up tight, and ride off quiet every. single. time! He travels smooth at the walk, trot, and lope -naturally carrying a working trot. 𝙆𝙚𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚! He rides just as good inside as he does outside, never refusing an obstacle or task. Steep inclines, thick brush, water, traffic, cattle, tarps & GUN FIRE- this guy is unfazed! He will literally do anything you ask! He is fearless and experienced, yet still tender and truly kind.

I consider this gelding a friend, and there have been many a time after a ride where I will be walking back to the barn and will get to talking to someone, and this gelding will literally put his whole head in your lap, and let you love all over him! He is a TOTAL PET. He stands out from the rest because he is genuinely so kind hearted, if he ever makes a mistake it is never from malice intent -and he tries so hard for his rider! You can take one look in Keystone’s eye and know that he does not think a bad thought. I can see this gelding building a lifelong relationship with someone, and really giving his everything for them. He will be a face that I will miss seeing everyday. He is a consistent, happy partner, that is ready to take on the world with you! 

Keystone is an 100% sound, hardy built gelding, that is fantastic for the farrier & vet! He stands tied, bathes, loads, no buck, bolt, rear, bite, or kick. He is the middle man in a herd environment, and will pick his person over his horse buddies!

If you want to meet Keystone in person, he is available for trial & vetting on select dates through the duration of the sale. Due to the unique notoriety of this gelding, there will be a $250 booking fee to schedule a ride.
